Whether you are new to counseling or have had past experiences in the therapy space, it can sometimes feel daunting to share your innermost self and vulnerabilities with another person.
I work to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where my clients feel validated and supported. I value a collaborative relationship with my clients, and I take a person-centered approach in my practice. I hope to create a trusting relationship by practicing transparency and authenticity in the counseling space. I believe that all humans have an innate desire to belong, to have fulfilling and safe relationships with others, and to receive acceptance for who they are. I also aim to provide restorative emotional experiences by attuning to your needs and embodying nurturance and compassion.
I received my master's degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Gonzaga is a CACREP accredited program. This means my classes adhered to the highest standards for counseling professionals. During my program, I acquired training in working with individuals, couples, and families. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and nationally certified through the National Boards for Certified Counselors.
I specialize in working with trauma and survivors of sexual assault. I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and relational struggles. I am trained in several evidence-based practices including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Just like you, I'm a human being who has interests and hobbies. Outside of the counseling space, you can find me composing music, playing piano, walking my dogs, or playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.
